Application for membership in the Junior League of Central Westchester ("JLCW") is open to all women who share our commitment to volunteerism.
We reach out to women of all races, religions and national origins to join us in pursuit of our mission: to promote volunteering, and to improve our community through the action and leadership of women trained to be effective volunteers. In the Fall and Spring of each year, the JLCW holds informational coffees for women interested in membership. Women who live or work in the communities we serve (White Plains, Scarsdale, Eastchester and Greenburgh) are encouraged to attend one of these sessions. Our members join as a class and meet with current JLCW members to learn more about our projects and our organization. Each new member class, with help from our New Member Committee, organizes its own volunteer project which is to be completed by the end of their training session (generally a 2-month time frame). To receive additional information about membership in the JLCW, please call our office at (914) 723-6130 or e-mail us at jlcw@verizon.net. Our next new member coffees will be held at 9:30 am and at 8 pm on September 23, 2010 at the Wayside Cottage.
