Junior League of Central Westchester Delighted to Deliver Newborn Care Packages to White Plains Hospital

posted on

The Junior League of Central Westchester (JLCW) is delighted to deliver 150 packages filled with clothing and care products for mothers-in-need and their newborns leaving White Plains Hospital located in White Plains, New York.  White Plains Hospital’s Public/Community Relations Department, as well as its nursing staff, advised the JLCW of the need for assistance with the provision of these items.

The JLCW was able to make a significant contribution through utilization of its own funds, as well as the generosity and support of the Walmart Foundation/Sam’s Club and Sassy, Inc.  The Walmart Foundation provided a grant of $1,000 towards the initiative and Sassy donated 100 rattles as well as offered a discounted price on an additional 100 rattles.

Over the course of several months, the JLCW’s Newborn Care Project Co-Chairs secured and assembled the packages of newborn essentials, which included onesies, side-snap shirts, sleepers, socks, hats, baby wash, rattles, books, nail files and thermometers.  White Plains Hospital was very grateful to receive a much larger quantity of packages from the JLCW than anticipated and will be providing the clothing and care packages to families-in-need immediately.

Each month White Plains Hospital accommodates and cares for members of the community who have limited resources.  The JLCW is pleased to be able to make an immediate impact in our local community by providing mothers-in-need with essential items so that their newborns have a better start.
