Teen Boutique is a free shopping event for girls ages 13-19 that come from families in financial need. There are many ways that you can support this great event!
Volunteer at a Pop-Up Teen Boutique Event!
There will be a total of four Teen Boutique “pop-ups” with approximately 40-50 girls attending. The first two pop-up boutiques will be:
Saturday April 9th – Greenburgh Community Center
Saturday April 30th – Children’s Village, Dobbs Ferry
Additional details and sign-up sheets to volunteer at these events will be distributed in the coming weeks. We will post the dates and locations of the other 2 events to be held in May as soon we get the details, so check back soon!
For those of you who wish to volunteer sooner, you can sign up to sort clothing at the Sharing Shelf any day Monday-Thursday, between 10am-4pm by clicking here. Put “JLCW” in the notes to be prioritized.
About Teen Boutique:
Teen Boutique was created by the Sharing Shelf, with whom the JLCW has partnered for many years. The girls invited to the event(s) have been recommended from community groups, social service agencies, schools and food pantries. This important service offers each girl the chance to select and take home a week’s worth of clothing from thousands of new and donated clothing items, shoes and accessories.
This spring, there will be 4 pop-up events in April and May, and we expect 200-250 girls to participate. While Westchester is one of the most affluent counties in our country, nearly 60,000 local children live in low-income homes.. The Sharing Shelf addresses one stress for these families by providing children and teens with quality, new and gently used clothing at no cost, and these events provide attendees the autonomy to select clothing they most want.
