The JLCW is an organization of approximately 200 women who are committed to advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and education. Our membership encompasses central Westchester women who share a commitment to making an impact on the community and building life-long friendships. The JLCW welcomes all women who value our mission. We are committed to inclusive environments of diverse individuals, organizations, and communities. The service area of the League is based in Central Westchester and extends throughout Northern Westchester, including but not limited to the towns of: Armonk, Bedford, Bedford HIlls, Briarcliff, Chappaqua, Eastchester, Greenburgh, Katonah, Pleasantville, Mount Kisco, Pound Ridge, Scarsdale, Somers and White Plains.
In the Fall and Spring of each year, the JLCW holds informational events for women interested in membership. Prospective members join as a class and learn about the JLCW’s efforts to improve the lives of neighbors in need, as well as the activities that support these initiatives, including fundraising and development, volunteer training and communications. Each new member class, with help from our New Member Committee, organizes its own volunteer project which is to be completed by the end of their training session (generally a 2-month time frame).
