JUNIOR LEAGUE OF CENTRAL WESTCHESTER TO PARTICIPATE IN SIMON FASHION NOW ®

Two-Day Fashion Event at The Westchester To Benefit JLCW

The Junior League of Central Westchester (JLCW) has been named the exclusive non-profit organization of choice for Fall 2012’s Simon Fashion Now® at The Westchester, presented locally by Greenwich Hospital and sponsored by Pepe Auto Group, Venture Studios, Tory Burch and LaserTouch Aesthetics. Taking place on October 5 and 6, 2012, Simon Fashion Now offers insight into the latest cosmetic trends, must-have accessories and fashion flair available at The Westchester. During the two-day event, which is free and open to the public, there will be a variety of activities including fashion shows, opportunities to receive swag bags, pampering and tasting stations from local businesses, and fundraising activities to benefit the JLCW.

Simon Fashion Now will showcase a variety of events presented by and benefitting the JLCW. During Trends and Friends Night, an evening of fashion, charity and bites on October 5, consumers will have the chance to win a $2,500 necklace donated by Tiffany & Co. and attend an invitation-only after-show party at C Wonder, which will donate a portion of sales to the JLCW.   The JLCW will also host a reading corner on October 6 in which consumers can contribute $5 per each children’s book, and the books will then be donated to Family Services of Westchester’s Head Start program in White Plains. For many years, the JLCW has promoted family literacy in Central Westchester by reading to preschools and providing tools that enable children to build literacy skills at home and in school.

Neiman Marcus, an Emerald Sponsor of the JLCW, will be providing all of the styling, including makeup, accessories and shoes from the newly branded contemporary department, CUSP, a shop-in-shop destination for the fashion-forward contemporary customer, for Simon Fashion Now’s Design Wars, in which students from SUNY Westchester Community College and Westchester Fashion Academy for Children will compete for top runway honors by showcasing student creations made primarily with shopping bags from select retailers at The Westchester.   Members of the JLCW will participate by modeling for the Design Wars event.

“We are so happy to select the Junior League of Central Westchester as our exclusive beneficiary for all of the important work they do in the community of White Plains and surrounding areas,” commented Paula Kelliher, area director of marketing for The Westchester and The Galleria at White Plains. “Through Simon Fashion Now, we have the opportunity to use our luxurious venue to assist the fundraising goals of a worthy organization and are pleased to be working with the Junior League of Central Westchester.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Simon Properties and Greenwich Hospital on this very worthwhile event,” said Lauren Wyler-Smith, President of the Junior League of Central Westchester. “The funds raised for the JLCW will be incredibly beneficial in our mission to improve the local community through our charitable works. Encouraging family literacy is one of our great causes, and we are so fortunate that this event will be a platform to raise awareness.”

About Simon Fashion NowÒ

The concept of Simon Fashion Now was conceived through grand opening events at properties like The Galleria in Houston, TX, The Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas, NV and The Domain in Austin, TX. Through the success of these events, which became fashion focused in 2003, Simon decided to take the events national and Simon Fashion Now was introduced. The contemporary program was designed to make the runway relevant for the everyday fashionista. Spring 2012 stops included Lenox Square in Atlanta, GA; The Galleria in Houston, TX; King of Prussia in King of Prussia, PA; Burlington Mall in Burlington, MA and Fashion Valley in San Diego, CA.
