Raising funds for local charitable needs and supporting our community
Scarsdale, NY, October 23, 2018 – The Junior League of Central Westchester (JLCW) will once again kick off an exciting hyper local fundraising program Take Out Tuesday for the 2018-2019 League year. The JLCW will spotlight a different local restaurant monthly within the service area of Greenburgh, Scarsdale, White Plains and Eastchester in an effort to promote local businesses and fund the efforts of their charitable projects.
“We are so happy to once again kick off this program, having the ability to help local businesses while supporting the charitable efforts of the JLCW,” stated Sandra Katz, President of the Junior League of Central Westchester. “The JLCW is a community-driven organization and this program fits right in with our philosophy. We hope that Take Out Tuesday will help small, local businesses to thrive while supporting the JLCW’s efforts, such as The Westchester County Diaper Bank. We are excited to partner with more locally-owned restaurants this League year, September 2018-June 2019.”
Restaurants that participate in Take Out Tuesday receive benefits including potential new customers, promotion on social media and a support certificate presented by the JLCW. One of last year’s featured restaurants, Gyro Gyro in Hartsdale, participated in the program and donated a percentage of all orders placed (take out or dine-in) when the JLCW was mentioned during ordering on Take Out Tuesday. Said owner Yianni Pappageorgiou, “It was a great event for our restaurant. We gained new customers and had a very busy evening!”
